The home of the Bhagnari breed is the Bhag territory, north of Jacobabad in Baluchistan and the adjoining areas of Sind . The cattle of this breed are comparitively long, well-built animals, with we1l-arched ribs and plentyof bone, muscle and substance.
The cows are reputed to be veryfair milkers arid selected animals have given quite good yields.The Bhagnari is draught type. Bhagnari cattle have skin colour that varies from white color to gray color, which deepens to almost black on the neck, shoulder and hump in mature males. These cattles have average weight gained at the time of maturity is 600 kg for the males and 480 kg for the females.
Typically Bhagnari cattle is quite compact and very massive. They have well proportioned body and limbs, a medium head with the neck being short and strong with a small dewlap.
The ears are small and pointed. The horns are stumpy and the sheath is tight with a small, medium hump. Bhagnari cattle breed have back that is somewhat straight, hind quarters that are wide, muscular and drooping. The ones that have a black ending of tail are suitable for heavy draught work.
