Mewati cows are said to be good milkers. They are similar to Hariana but there are traces of influence of are Gir, Kankrej and Malvi breeds.Mewati breed is also known as Kosi or Mewati.
It is a draught purpose breed. The breeding pathway for these cattle includes Gurgaon and Faridabad districts of Haryana: Alwar and Bharatpur Districts of Rajasthan; and Mathura District of Uttar Pradesh.
These cattle types are powerful and docile. They are useful for heavy ploughing, carting and drawing water from deep wells.

Their Horns are usually small in size to medium in size and they typically emerge outwards, upwards and then inwards in most of these animals. However, in some animals the horns emerge outwards and upward. Their tips of the horns are quite pointed. Their face is long and narrow with straight, sometimes slightly bulging forehead as well. Mewati cows have average milk yield which is reported to be around 958 Kg.
