Diwali with Desi Cow, Hyderabad

The third event is conducted with the concept of celebrating Diwali season with Desi cow in Hyderabad.

Event Date : November 10th 2019
Event Timing : Morning 8:00 am to 2:30 pm
Event Location : Shri Venu Gopala Swamy Mandira Goushala, Mekanagadda, Gandipet, Hyderabad

Brief Event Details:

  • 8:00 AM to 8.45 AM – Breakfast
  • 9.00 AM to 10.15 AM – Goshala Cleaning
  • 10.30 AM to 10:50 AM – Introduction to Cow Breeds (Indigenous)
  • 11.00 AM to 12.00 PM – Demo on preparation Dhoopsticks and Dantmanjan
  • 12.00 PM to 12.30 PM – Talk by Mr. Mallinath Hemadi on Sustainable Environment and Life Style
  • 12.30 PM to 01.15 PM – Speech by Nirmalananda Maata ji about serving Desi Cows
  • 01.15 PM to 01.30 PM – Introduction to GoPals and interaction with the participants
  • 01.30 PM to 02.00 PM – Lunch

People Participation :

The Start: The day has started with the Gopals team making arrangements for the event activities. Gopals Team welcomed the volunteers at the registration desk, followed by registration of participants.

Amrutha Aaharam For the breakfast the participants were served with kichidi, healthy and nutritional breakfast made of millets sourced from the farmer grown in cow based natural farming methods.

Gou Shala Cleaning and Bathing Cows: After the breakfast participants is given task to clean the Goshala and bathing the cows.

Introduction to Desi Cow breeds: After cleaning the Goshala, Shri Sada Siva ji had explained about the different breeds of desi cow and made participants understand the difference between HF, Jersey cows and Desi cows.

Demo on Gomaya Products Preparation In the workshop Mr. Mallinath Hemadi explained the participants about the need for chemical free products in daily life and part of that explained how we can make make products useful for our daily requirements like dantmanjan and dhoop sticks. After the demo, participants is given with the sample material and made them to have hands on experience in making the gomaya products.

Talk by Shri Mallinath Hemadi Mr. Mallinath Hemadi, a practicing natural farmer and also working as assistant professor in Dairy Science College, Kalaburagi had made an interactive session on sustainable environment and life style. He explained how cow and its bi products really helps in saving the environment from chemicals and pollution.

Talk by Nirmalananda Maata ji – Importance of desi cow Nirmalananda maata ji session with her speech about the importance of desi cow in our daily life and cow products motivated the participants and made pledge that they will start the day with cow products and also stop using chemical based products.

Introduction about GoPals and interaction with participants: GoPals team had an interactive session with the participants firstly explaining them what GoPals is about and the team activities. Participants have given their introduction and how they felt about the day activity in the goushala.

Lunch :

After the activities participants is served with tasty food with a simple menu pulihora rice, curd rice, pickle and sweet. The ingredients we had used are all procured from the farmers who are practicing cow based natural farming.

Outcome :

Nearly 70 participants attended the event. Few enthusiastic participants showed their interest to volunteer future events which GoPals Team will be organizing and registered their names. Few had donated amount for Goshala maintenance.

We Gopals are very happy spending time with many enthusiastic participants from Hyderabad city and other towns nearby who is very much interested to get connected with cow and nature.
